WBS Spring 2019 - Tues - Isaiah
Isaiah: Rivers of Hope for a Desert World with Crossing Pastor Patrick Miller
Let’s be honest. When we hear “Isaiah,” we can’t help but think of one of those long, confusing Old Testament books we can never finish because it feels so strange and distant. But what if Isaiah is more than a historical curiosity for Bible nerds? What if understanding these peculiar prophecies had the power to change us in profound ways? Jesus seemed to think so. So much that he allowed Isaiah's visions to shape his life's mission: he would become the suffering servant whom Isaiah foretold, whose death and resurrection would unleash rivers of hope and new life into an old, dead, desert world. In this class, we will unpack the history, message, and themes of the book that shaped Jesus’ life, in order to discover how it can pour rivers of hope into dry lives today.
