WBS Summer 2020 - Mon PM - Your Teenager is Not Crazy

Your Teenager is Not Crazy: Understanding Your Teen’s Brain Can Make You a Better Parent by Dr. Jeramy and Jerusha Clark, with Crossing Small Groups Staff Kelley and Ryan Wampler

If you have a teenager then I’m sure, at some point, you have wondered if they are crazy. Vibrant one moment and sullenly apathetic the next, engaging in risky and impulsive behavior one day and having profound reflections on life, faith, and relationships the next. Teenagers often confound parents, who wonder, Who is this alien in my child’s skin? Why did she stop smiling? Why is he angry all the time? What were they thinking? What in the world should I do? In Your Teenager is Not Crazy, Dr. Jeramy and Jerusha Clark help us understand this unique developmental time in the life of our kids which gives us wisdom and compassion to love and train our emerging adults. Each chapter is conveniently titled with something you may hear your teen say–things like I'm bored, You just don't understand, Why are you freaking out?, I hate my life! and looks at how to approach each of these comments in a way that helps us to understand the body, mind, and soul of a teenager. Bonus…it is also filled with very practical advice and 'to do’s' so that the teen years can be an amazing season of cultivating creativity, self-awareness, and passion for the things that really matter.
