Agape

Ministries

Agape Ministries’ mission is to partner with ministries at The Crossing to ensure all people are included and accommodated so they can learn that Jesus is more.

Agape Kids’ mission is to partner with families to provide unconditional love and support to kids with additional needs during their time in Crossing Kids. We will personalize accommodations and support for each child. This information will be determined by conversing with caregivers, completing a brief intake form, and observing the child in their Crossing Kids classroom.

Typically, children are paired with a one-on-one volunteer, called a “buddy,” and remain in class with their same-aged peers. Support is also available during Crossing Kids family events and during any church-sponsored event that provides childcare. Please note: there may be a short waiting period as we recruit and train the right Agape Buddy for your child.

Agape Students’ mission is to partner with Crossing Students to support 6th-12th graders with additional needs during weekly events, small groups, and special events. Agape Students’ staff can train a one-on-one Agape Mentor, train small group leaders, and provide schedule or behavior plans for a student’s time at The Crossing.

Agape Mentors are one-on-one volunteers who offer additional support for students. Based on caregiver input and conversations with small group leaders and Middle or High School Directors, we will determine if a student needs one-on-one support. Please note: there may be a short waiting period as we recruit and train the right Agape Mentor for your student.

Agape Roots’ mission is to provide an adapted curriculum and an accessible learning environment for 6th-12th graders with intellectual disabilities. Agape Roots is a class that takes place during the 9:45 service and includes video Bible content, frequent breaks, and visuals to help students learn.

Agape Students’ staff can train a one-on-one Agape Mentor to support students in learning and activities. Based on caregiver input and conversations with staff, we will determine if a student needs one-on-one support. Please note: there may be a short waiting period as we recruit and train the right Agape Mentor for your student.
Agape Grow’s mission is to help adults with and without disabilities grow in their knowledge of the Bible and love for the Lord in the context of community. Agape Grow includes Sunday morning Bible Study, monthly fun events, and weekday clubs to provide additional community and life skill development.

At Agape Grow's Sunday morning Bible study, teachers offer an adapted curriculum that includes various learning methods, such as visuals, activities, discussion, breaks, and more! We pair individuals who need one-on-one support with an Agape Grow Peer, who provides additional attention and accommodations. Please note: there may be a short waiting period as we recruit and train the right Agape Peer for you, if applicable.

We ask that you get involved with Bible study first before moving to other components of Agape Grow.
